മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുടെ പോലീസ് മെഡൽ പോലീസ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർക്കും ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർക്കും അവരുടെ അർപ്പണബോധമുള്ള പ്രവർത്തനത്തിനും പൊതുജനങ്ങൾക്ക് കാര്യക്ഷമമായ പോലീസ് നൽകുന്നതിലെ മികവിനും നൽകുന്നു. ഓരോ പോലീസ് ജില്ലയിൽ നിന്നുമുള്ള നാമനിർദ്ദേശങ്ങൾ പോലീസ് ആസ്ഥാനത്തേക്ക് അയയ്ക്കും. ഒരു സൂക്ഷ്മപരിശോധനാ സമിതി ഈ നാമനിർദ്ദേശങ്ങൾ സൂക്ഷ്മമായി പരിശോധിക്കുകയും മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുടെ പോലീസ് മെഡലിന് ഏറ്റവും അനുയോജ്യരായ പോലീസ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും
